Yeah this is just a tax free supplement to my regular income. Used to love nothing more than a little cold hard fight analysis but its becoming more and more about the money these days.

I couldn't imagine gambling full time for a living. Seems like a stressful and potentially ruinous way to make a living. I already have a career and lifestyle that I enjoy so I just look at this as an entertaining hobby and pastime that makes me enjoy the only sport I follow more and can also make me some good extra money. After dancing around break even and small losses for my first full year of gambling in 2014, I'm on fire this year and up more than 69 units at this point. That's more than enough money for a big equipment upgrade that I was going to have to do anyway so now it's courtesy of the sportsbooks.

Betting on MMA is my sole income right now. I quit my job and spend around 30 hours a week watching tape and researching etc. I still enjoy the fights more than ever, tape study has been getting a little boring, but it's awesome so far.

Edmonton, Canada. But I romanticize the idea of packing up my laptop and travelling the world, sitting on a beach watching Pendred/Spencer for the tenth time....

And Ez that sounds like the dream! I had always thought you did this full time so that explains it.

I have seriously considered upping my unit size and giving it a go. Creating this website was the first stage of that process. However since they have hamstrung live betting I do not think it is feasible for me at the moment.

Defer to Nunya on this but not sure if it is possible to grind out enough of a living to live comfortably on sports gambling alone unless you have access to a very deep bankroll and books with very high limits. Or you could tout and try and keep a customer base. Unless you live in bumfuck middle-America somewhere with a very low cost of living.

Reminds me of all the $1-$2 "poker pros" I know who claim to be professional because they don't have another source of income, but still live with their parents and have no expenses whatsoever.

Making a living at sports is all about the churn. Gotta roll that bankroll over as many times as possible. Millions, not thousands.
