Will post my Eredivisie (Dutch football) bets for this season for the degens! ...

5 unitz max bet.

Bet 1:

5 unitz on Heerenveen Draw-no-bet @ -125 away at Go Ahead Eagles...

Go Ahead are newly promoted from Eerste Divisie (league below) and have lost some key players from that promoted side and I expect to struggle and go straight back down to that league. They may yet get some replacements as still a few weeks until season but as of now haven't done much business and not much time now for them to get settled in even if do make signings. Erkan Eyibil was on loan from Mainz and a key centre mid, currently he isn't staying for another year. Three key strikers have left - Van Hoeven who scored 8 goals, Sam Hendriks also 8 goals, and Rabillard 6 goals. Experienced defender Veldmate (28 games, 5 goals) has left for Emmen, and most significantly, they have lost their best play centre back Sam Beukema to AZ Alkmaar, he also contributed 8 goals. So in total lost about 60% of their goal scorers from last season.

Heerenveen meanwhile are a solid mid-table Eredivisie side but very erratic - last season they only won 3 away games and drew 7 (this will be why they aren't bigger favourites in this game). They haven't made many signings - but two significant solid ones in big young Serbian prospect Stevanovic on loan from Man City, and centre mid Halilovic from Rijeka who could both be solid Eredivisie players. Also have signed right back Milan van Ewijk from relegated ADO Den Haag who could end up potentially being one of the best right backs in the league. The key will be if they keep playmaker Joey Veerman who so far hasnt been able to get a move to a bigger team due to fee being too high. Ultimately I think at worse they should draw this game.

Bet 2:

5 unitz on Groningen Draw-no-bet @ -125 away at Cambuur..

Similar situation to above, Cambuur newly promoted and I think will struggle. Cambuur absolutely dominated the league finishing 15 points clear of Go Ahead and scoring 109 goals. However, they have lost their best player Robert Muhren who was top scorer last season with 38 goals in 37 games. Have also lost 3 other attacking players in Giovanni Korte (34 games, 10 goals), Antonia (32 games, 7 goals), & Oratmangoen (22 games, 8 goals) - so those 4 combined is about 60% of their total goals from last season gone. Key defender Joris Kramer's loan from Alkmaar has also expired. So far they have only signed 3 players, Sam Hendriks from Go Ahead who is not really Eredivisie level, Tom Boere from German third division who is also a solid Eerste divisie player but not Eredivisie then a defender in Marco Tol from Volendam.

Groningen had a decent season last year finishing 7th and only lost 8 of their 17 away games. They have lost key centre back Itakura who has returned to Man City which is a concern, and also keeper Sergio Padt. However, they've signed Radinio Balker from Almere who was one of the best centre backs in Eerste divisie last season and could be a shrewd signing. Also young AJax prospect Kasanwirjo is a potential star who they have signed. Aside from that they have kept some key players such as Gudmundsson, el Messaoudi, Larsen and Matusiwa and think they will have enough to draw at worse.

I will also do a draw experiment. Last season there was a lot of draws in Eredivisie (aside from Ajax who are on a different level to other sides). There isn't much to separate the rest of sides below PSV, Feyenoord and AZ Alkmaar so there are often very tight games. 6 teams got in to double figures for draws last season.

French Ligue Un Underdog Project:

Blindly bet underdog in most games (unless it's one of the big sides such as Lyon or PSG at home to small team). Last season many teams were just as good away from home as at home so get undervalued when away from home due to perceived home advantage;

Game 1 (1 unit stake on underdog, to win 1 unit on fave):

Angers DNB @ +200 away at Strasbourg;

Lorient DNB @ +125 away at St Etienne;

Lens DNB @ +175 away at Rennes;

Reims DNB @ +175 away at Nice;

Montpellier DNB @ +120 at home to Marseille;

Nantes +1 Asian Handicap @ +105 away at Monaco;

Metz +1 Asian Handicap @ -175 at home to Lille;

CL Qualifier bets 03.08.21:

5 unitz on Shakhtar Donetsk Draw-no-bet @ -120 away at Racing Genk; +4.17 unitz

5 unitz on Rangers Draw-no-bet @ -120 away at Malmo; -5 unitz

Porlay (double): 5 unitz on PSV -1 Asian Handicap @ -225 & Monaco Draw-no-bet @ -250; +5.11 unitz

PSV line is getting hammered because FC Midgytland have covid outbreak (at least 4 key players haven't been able to travel to the game);
2-1 will take that. Comfortable 3-0 win for PSV (the -1.5 handicap was the certainly the play with form they are in and Danish side's covid issues), Monaco easy 2-0 win. Rangers dominated but conceded 2 quick goals straight away in second half then pulled one back late but not enough. Shakhtar back from goal down to win 2-1 thanks to their Brazilians.
+4.28 unitz

CL Qualifier bets 04.08.21:

5 unitz on Slavia Prague Draw-no-bet @ -162 away at Ferencvaros;

Slavia very good in Europa league last season and have only improved their side. Should get a draw at worse. Ferencvaros lost at home at weekend to a weak side in their league so doesn't bode well for them.

Europa Conference League bet 05.08.21:

Rijeka Draw-no-bet @ +120 away at Hibs;

This line seems generous to me, Hibs are being over-valued just due to home advantage but will only be allowed 4,700 in stadium due to Covid so will hardly be a vociferous intimidating atmosphere. Rijeka are the second best team in Croatia and the Hibs are an average Scottish league side in a terrible standard league!

Europa League bets 05.08.21:

Jablonec win or draw at home to Celtic @ -110;

Same thought process as above - Scottish league side being over-valued just because more well known then counterparts and better side on paper. Doesn't mean they should be favourites though, they are in terrible form losing away at Hearts at weekend and Jablonec are typically very strong at home in Czech league which is undoubtedly a tougher league than Scottish league.

Eerste Divisie bets (06.08.21/07.08.21/08.08.21):

5 unitz on FC Emmen Draw-no-bet @ -162 away at Telstar;

FC Emmen were relegated last season from the Eredivisie but despite inevitably losing some of the best players such as Sergio Pena who has just signed for Malmo, key striker de Leeuw to Groningen, and Simon Tibbling to Randers, they have signed some very solid players for this level of football and expect them to be battling for top 4 place in league. In many positions they have two quality players battling for that position which is very much a novelty for this standard where some teams can barely have 15 man squad let alone 2 good options for each position! Two good goalkeepers have been signed in Indy Groothuizen from Danish side Veijle and Micahel Brouwer from Heracles; and in defence they have poached Jeroen Veldmate who was key central defender for Go Ahead Eagles who got promoted from this league last season and experienced centre back Mitch Apau has been signed from Slaven Belupo in Croatia. Two quality left backs for this level have been signed in Jeff Hardeveld from Heracles and Lorenzo Burnet. They have kept hold of Peru defender Araujo and right back Bijl who were two regulars last season and signed French right back Luzayadio former PSG youth player. They should be top 3 defensive side in league if not the best. In midfield they have captured former Ajax prospect Teun Bijleveld from Heracles who could be one of best midfielders in league, and four decent wingers in experienced player Van Ooijen who returns from spell in Germany, Rui Mendes from Hoffenheim II, another former PSG youngster Toufiqui who could be a diamond in the rough, & Finnish prospect Jasin Assehnoun who was one of the stars of Finnish League. Then up front to replace de Leeuw who scored 13 goals last season in Ereidivisie they have signed Jong Utrecht star Jeredy Hilterman who scored 19 goals last season and he should guarantee goals.

5 unitz on De Graafschap Draw-no-bet @ -130 at home to Roda;

De Graafschap known as one of the hardest places to travel to - only lost 3 games at home last season. Roda is getting action probably because they knocked De Graafschap out of the play-offs at De Graafschap but they also lost 4-0 to them in the regular league season! De Graaf have lost two key attacking players in Seuntjens to NAC and van Miegham to Volendam, but they have signed Giovanni Korte, Acheffay, and Denzell Gravenberch who should be solid replacements. Roda have lost their best attacking player Goppel (who scored 2 in the 3-2 win in playoffs at De Graafschap).

5 unitz on Volendam to Win @ -110 away at FC Eindhoven;

Seems a gift line on paper as Eindhoven were a very mediocre side last season and haven't really improved the team due to financial issues, they have only signed decent goalkeeper Bertrams and have a threadbare squad.
Volendam meanwhile have lost three key players in defender Marco Tol (35 games, 1 goal), playmaker Antonucci (31 apps, 4 goals, 12 assists), and striker Mulattieri (30 games, 18 goals). However, they have brought in solid replacements with Damon Mirani in defence from Almere who was a top 5 defender in the league last season; for creativity to replace Antonucci they've signed van Mieghem from de Graafschap, and most significantly they've pulled off a major coup by getting last seasons top scorer Robert Muhren from promoted Cambuur - he scored 38 goals and got 12 assists so pretty much guaranteed to score goals with Martijn Kaars as back up who has scored 11 goals in each of last two seasons. They have also potentially upgraded in GK department with Stankovic joining from Inter Milan on loan, so with him combined with Mirani and young prospect Micky van de Ven (who will end up at an Eredivisie side in year or two) as centre-backs and Derry Murkin attacking left wing back Volendam should have a top 3 defence in league as well as best attack. Although not as spectacular and not as good as last season, Volendam's midfield is also still reasonably solid with veterans Kevin Visser and Boy Deul accompanied by the younger Alex Plat. I expect Volendam to be a top 5 side again same as last season. They only lost 3 games away from home last season.

5 unitz on VVV Venlo Draw-no-bet @ -137 at home to NAC Breda;

VVV another side that were relegated from the Eredivisie however have somehow kept hold of their best player from last season Greek striker Giakoumakis who was the top scorer in the Eredivisie scoring 26 goals in 30 games.
NAC have lost four key players in striker Sidney Van Hooijdonk (15 goals last season), veteran midfielder and leader Lex Immers (28 games, 6 goals), young midfielder Fiorini (32 games, 5 goals), and arguably the league's second MVP after Robert Muhren in Mounir El Allouchi who scored 13 goals and had 14 assists. Danny Bakker, Velanas, and Seuntjens have been brought in but I don't see these being at same level as what has departed - they will certainly be a lot less creative without El Allouchi.

5 unitz on Utrecht Reserves vs MVV Under 3 goals @ -137;

This league is known for being high scoring partly because relegation doesn't exist so teams play with more freedom combined with natural inclination in Dutch football to play attacking style due to Johan Cruyff philosophy. However, some teams do still play a more disciplined style either due to lacking attacking talent or due to a Coach preferring more pragmatic approach and last season Top Oss were one of these sides, especially away from home. They only scored 11 goals on their travels in 19 games but also only conceded 26. Their manager last season is now manager of MVV and expect they will adopt similar style. They also lack attacking talent in general and Utrecht reserves have lost top scorer last season to FC Emmen so like the chances that this is a 3 goal max game but possible only 2. One potential banana-skin is that with the reserve sides in this league (Jong Ajax, Jong AZ, Jong PSV, & Jong Utrecht) they can bring in players from their first team so sometimes can have 3 or 4 players who are on complete different level to rest of players on pitch which can bring about erratic results - Jong Ajax for instance had one season were they dominated the league because they had so many first team players regularly featuring for them and it caused quite a fuss and is an ongoing criticism in Dutch football!

CL Qualifier bet (04.08.21):

5 unitz on Spartak Moscow/Benfica Under 2.5 goals @ -120;

Expect this game to be quite cagey. Spartak two opening league games have been 1-0 win and 1-0 loss. Benfica first game of season so will not be fluent. Benfica playing 5-3-2 formation with two more defensive minded holding centre mids so not exactly attacking line-up and their striker Seferovic is very erratic and not a potent goalscorer. Spartak also playing with a sole striker and one of their key attacking players Quincy Promes is out injured. Expecting a 1-1 draw or 1-0 either way. Normally I'd play Benfica draw-no-bet also as do have superior side on paper but as it's first game they could be very rusty.

Premier League Bet 1 (14.08.21):

5 unitz on Leeds Utd +1 Asian Handicap @ +102 away at Man Utd;

Leeds got blown away last season at Man U which is probably why the odds are like they are. However, a lot of Man Utd's players are only just returning to training so will probably not play against Leeds next weekend.
