Two rounds for the quarter-finals tonight and then three rounds for the semi-finals also tonight, since the athletic commission only allows a fighter to fight five rounds total in a night. Unlike last year though they fixed the rule about who advances. If any quarter-final fight ends in a draw after two rounds it officially remains a draw for official record and betting purposes, however, the judges pick an overall "winner" to advance to the semi-finals tonight, instead of advancing the winner of round one of the quarter-final fight.

I took Nicholson at -110. This is two rounds so less time for him to gas out or make a mistake. And he said on the Pre-Fight show that he was going to use his power like last time but also fight smart and avoid a brawl that leaves him vulnerable to costly mistakes. It was a close split decision last time that he lost in the three round fight where he lost round 3 by falling down essentially.

Also took Rashid Yusupov at -205 over Vinny Magalhaes. Yusupov is a pretty well rounded fighter, much better striker and has never been submitted in pro competition which is Vinny's only way to win this.
A "submitter's chance" is much less likely than a puncher's chance against a well rounded fighter.

Maxim Grishin at -120 vs Jordan Johnson in yet another rematch. Grishin won unanimously last time, Johnson will be hard pressed to adapt a game plan to beat him. And I feel okay even with a play on Denis Goltsov over Satoshi Ishii at -370 to win a hundy.

If not for the point deduction due to repeated groin strikes, Alex Nicholson's fight with Francimar Barroso would have ended in a majority draw like a couple of the other bouts I got money back on. My bigger bets came in and Jared Rosholt got another upset as a big underdog, so ended up with 7.2 units profit for the final PFL 2019 playoffs card.
